Interview is an opportunity for both the employer and the prospective employee to gather information. Whenever you are called for an interview, do appropriate preparation and spend some time in researching about the organization. (It pays to prepare for an interview) Preparation can be done at the following levels:
Personal Level:
       The way you dress up reflects your personality. You should be comfortable in the attire you have chosen.
       Carry minimum accessories with you. A decent folder serves the purpose.
       Carry two copies of your updated resume, relevant certificates and two passport size photographs.
       Talk precisely and to the point. Be courteous.
       Never criticize your past employers.
       Be prepared to negotiate on the salary and also justify the hike you are expecting while changing.
       Most important, in case you are not able to attend the interview or do not wish to attend, please ensure that proper intimation is given well in advance.
        It is in good taste.

 
Professional Level:

Collect as many details about the employer, the company and the group companies.
       Go through the company’s website and study it in detail to get a fair idea about its products and services, customers, its performance and future plans.
       Find and talk to past and present employees, vendors, major customers and competitors, to know more about the employer.

Think on the following lines before you attend the interview.
       Brief profile about self.
       Objectives, goals and ambitions in life.
       Your career path, contribution and satisfaction level of the jobs till date.
       Reasons why you wish to join the interviewing company.
       Your major skill sets, strengths and weaknesses.
       Company’s growth plans, your present reporting levels and future career progression.
       Salary expectation.
       Time required to join on selection.
